it's near impossible to lose muscle (unless you starve yourself to the point where on earth you have no flab left to burn and your body starts going to your muscles for activeness, which is, needless to vote, not a good thing) . . . the best channel to burn fat is cardio exercise (running, walking, aerobics, egg-shaped, bike, etc.)

first -why would you want to lose muscle? as for fat - glorious reps and low weights. or skating!!
Lots of cardio, and when weightlifting use low weight and do illustrious reps.

i take it you,ve asked the interview wrong as you wouldn't want to lose muscle, but as for fat and overall shaping of the legs here is no better exercises than running or serious swimming when i say serious i propose lenghts of the pool not going to the baths for a splash around
